PLANET 9999 - 9x9x9x9 Challenge Entry
Made for the 9x9x9x9 Challenge.
The point of skeddles's challenge is to make something with 9 colours, 9 tiles, 9x9 tileset (#9x9x9x9challenge on Twitter).
I went a bit further by using using #090000 #000999 #900000 #636363 (r99 g99 b99) #009999 #999900 #999999 #9CCCC9 #59FC02 (h99 s99 v98) to push the challenge even further. I really enjoyed making these, so I carried on making some more screens.
The challenge turned into a Metroid study, for which I experimented with patterns and colours, to suggest mechanical details as well as more organic ones.
